CNC Field Service Engineer

About the role

This position involves providing installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance support for CNC machine tools at customer sites nationwide. You will ensure optimal machine performance, deliver technical guidance, and support customer training.

Responsibilities

• Install and calibrate CNC machines, including all options and accessories
• Perform machine leveling, geometry checks, and adjustments for peak performance
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software issues
• Provide on-site and remote technical support, including troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Assist with customer training, project coordination, and support at trade shows
• Maintain detailed service documentation
• Travel extensively, including overnight stays and occasional weekends

Requirements

• 5+ years in CNC machine maintenance and servicing (electrical and mechanical)
• Experience with remote technical support in the machine tool industry
• Proficient in installing and aligning machining centers
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, FANUC controls, and industrial electrical systems
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and travel extensively
