About the role
As an EY SAP Technology Presales Architect, you will directly assist EY and clients in creating efficient, optimized, and precise pursuit proposals that leverage EY's technology assets and capabilities to transform and manage their businesses.
Responsibilities
- Client Interaction: Harvest requirements from the client and translate them into a solution that aligns with the objectives and principles agreed upon with the client. Lead the technology aspect of the pursuit team.
- Pursuit Shaping: Provide guidance for the solution and pursuit definition, serve as presales thought leadership, ascertain technical delivery possibilities and costs for critical business solutions based on available EY technology products, tools, and processes.
- Technology Presales Development: Work with a wide range of internal stakeholders, including Product Owners, Business Owners, EY SAP Delivery Teams, and GDS, to envision, design, and develop pursuit designs and responses. Address identified technology gaps through established channels.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Presales / Pursuit Architecture & Solutioning for mid to large scale pursuits
- Provide thought leadership during deal development, pursuit, and close phases
- Deep understanding of SAP Technology and EY’s SAP drivers, products, tools, and processes to deliver value to the client
- Establish Presales standards, guidelines, and procedures to enhance the success rate of client pursuits
- Support E2E solution architecture and align with overall EA and IT Roadmap
- Shape RFP responses and bring in insightful technology-based recommendations
- Maintain relationships with relevant delivery/competence center teams and ensure solutions adhere to approved designs throughout the application lifecycle
- Interact with stakeholders on presales issues and strategic improvements
- Coach business owners and pursuit leads on technology presales throughout the pursuit lifecycle
- Document pursuit/deal architecture and technology roadmaps using templates, Architecture tooling, and conform to standards
- Identify, communicate, mitigate, and resolve technology issues and risks
- Collaborate with Technology Product Teams and influence their Product Backlogs and Priorities
Skills and attributes for success
- Knowledge on industry solutions/products
- Technology background – experience in deal development, architecture, and strategy or association with a technology start-up
- Experience in large-scale multi-technology, data, and analytics deals
- Technology all-round expertise – Applications, Infrastructure, Digital, Security
- Technical / data / application / integration architecture experience
- Expertise in responding to RFPs and shaping client proposals
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Good business acumen with the ability to develop strategic ongoing customer relationships and gain stakeholder trust through technical leadership
- Ability to identify technical risks and develop mitigation and avoidance strategies
- Awareness of portfolio management principles, tools, and techniques
- Organized and methodical with a taste for detail
- Rigorous, thorough, and able to drive change using influence and networking
Ideally, you’ll also
- Individual contributor role, hence, should know the art of influence without authority
- Strong experience in offshore/onsite working models and working with different geographies and cultures
- Certifications and/or experience in Agile Delivery and DevOps are desirable
- Architectural training/certifications like TOGAF or IASA are desirable
- Knowledge on service management frameworks, especially on areas of service strategy and design (ITIL V3/V4) is an added advantage
- Regular international and domestic travel
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of technology, business development, and thought leadership experience

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $120,700 to $225,800. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $144,900 to $256,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
