Client Technology SAP: Technology Presales Architect
About the role
As an EY SAP Technology Presales Architect, you will directly assist EY and clients in creating efficient, optimized, and precise pursuit proposals that leverage EY's technology assets and capabilities to transform and manage their businesses.
Responsibilities
- Client Interaction: Harvest requirements from the client and translate these into a solution that meets the objectives and principles agreed with the client. Lead the technology aspect of the pursuit team.
- Pursuit Shaping: Provide guidance for the solution and pursuit definition, presales thought leadership, ascertain technical delivery possibilities and costs involved for critical business solution implementations based on available EY technology products, tools, and processes.
- Technology Presales Development: Work with a wide variety of internal stakeholders, including Product Owners, Business Owners, EY SAP Delivery Teams, and GDS, to envision, design, and develop pursuit designs and responses, focusing on EY's SAP delivery and technology capabilities for enterprises, industries, platforms, and solutions. Address identified technology gaps through established channels.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Presales / Pursuit Architecture & Solutioning for mid to large scale pursuits
- Provide thought leadership during deal development, pursuit, and close phases
- Have deep understanding of SAP Technology and EY's SAP drivers, products, tools, and processes to deliver value to the client
- Establish Presales standards, guidelines, and procedures to increase the success rate of client pursuits for EY and the SAP alliance
- Support E2E solution architecture and align with overall EA and IT Roadmap of specific clients
- Shape RFP responses and bring in incisive insights from tech experience
- Bring the outside in approach, ensuring an objective analysis and providing actionable recommendations in the form of underpinned solutions
- Maintain relationships with relevant delivery/competence center teams and ensure implemented solutions follow approved designs throughout the application life cycle
- Interact with stakeholders on presales issues and strategic improvements
- Coach business owners and pursuit leads on technology presales throughout the pursuit lifecycle
- Ensure proper pursuit/deal architecture and technology roadmaps are documented using templates, Architecture tooling, and conform to standards and utilize available reference models
- Actively work to identify, communicate, mitigate, and resolve technology issues and risks. Seek step-out approval for solutions that cannot be 100% compliant with standards
- Collaborate with Technology Product Teams, influence the Product backlogs and priorities based on Presales/Pursuit engagements
Skills and attributes for success
- Knowledge on industry solutions/products
- Technology background – experience in deal development, architecture, and strategy or association with a technology start-up
- Experience on large-scale multi-technology, data, analytics deals
- Technology all-round expertise – applications, infrastructure, digital, security
- Technical/data/application/integration architecture experience
- Experience responding to RFPs and shaping client proposals
- Expertise on solution writing and making client presentations
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to interact with a global audience
- Good business acumen with the ability to develop strategic ongoing customer relationships, gain stakeholder trust, and respect the company through technical leadership
- Ability to identify technical risks before they occur and develop mitigation and avoidance strategies
- Awareness of portfolio management principles, tools, and techniques
- Organized and methodical with a taste for detail
- Rigorous, thorough, and able to drive change using influence and networking
What we offer you
The compensation range for this position in the US is $120,700 to $225,800. For the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento), the range is $144,900 to $256,600. Individual salaries are determined based on a variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and location. Additional benefits include medical and dental coverage, pension, and a 401(k) plan, as well as a flexible vacation policy and a wide range of paid time off options.
We offer a hybrid model where most people in external, client-serving roles work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year. We also provide regular international and domestic travel opportunities.
