About the role
This position involves collaborating with pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, and healthcare providers to deliver tailored anesthesia care for pediatric patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and assess risks.
- Discuss anesthesia options with families and provide age-appropriate education and reassurance.
- Perform comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessments, review medical histories, labs, and medications.
- Identify potential risks, develop individualized anesthesia plans, and obtain informed consent.
- Administer various anesthesia techniques such as general, regional, local, and sedation, including spinal, epidural, and nerve blocks.
- Induce, maintain, and monitor anesthesia during procedures, adjusting levels for safety and comfort, including managing difficult airways and rapid sequence intubation (RSI).
- Provide post-anesthesia care, ensure safe recovery, and manage post-operative conditions.
- Respond to emergency situations with airway management and resuscitative measures.
- Educate patients and families on anesthesia processes, risks, recovery, and pain management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for seamless perioperative care.
- Mentor and teach nurse anesthesia students, residents, or new CRNAs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s degree required; Doctorate preferred.
- Must hold RN licensure, CRNA certification, and certifications in BLS, PALS, and ACLS.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
This is a full-time, onsite role with a focus on pediatric anesthesia care and team collaboration.
