Role Overview
This position involves collaborating with healthcare teams to assess, plan, and administer pediatric anesthesia tailored to individual patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations, reviewing medical histories, lab results, and medications.
- Identify potential anesthesia risks, discuss options with families, develop care plans, and obtain informed consent.
- Administer various anesthesia techniques, including general, regional, local, and sedation, as well as spinal, epidural, and nerve blocks.
- Induce and maintain anesthesia during diverse procedures, monitor physiological responses, and adjust levels for safety and comfort.
- Implement RSI and manage difficult airways when necessary.
- Provide post-anesthesia care, ensuring safe emergence and managing recovery conditions.
- Respond to emergency situations with airway management, vascular access, and resuscitative efforts.
- Educate patients and families about anesthesia, risks, post-operative care, pain management, and warning signs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless perioperative care.
- Participate in teaching and mentoring students, residents, or new CRNAs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred.
- Licensed Registered Nurse, CRNA certification, and certifications in BLS, PALS, ACLS.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- This is a full-time, onsite role focused on pediatric anesthesia with a strong emphasis on patient safety, team collaboration, and education.
