About the role
This role involves collaborating with healthcare teams to assess, plan, and administer anesthesia tailored to pediatric patients' needs. Responsibilities include conducting pre-anesthetic evaluations, discussing options with families, and providing age-appropriate education and reassurance.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessments, review medical histories, and identify risks.
- Develop individualized anesthesia care plans, obtain informed consent, and assess anesthesia options.
- Administer various anesthetic techniques, including general, regional, local, and sedation, and perform nerve blocks.
- Induce and maintain anesthesia during diverse procedures, monitor patient responses, and adjust levels for safety and comfort.
- Manage post-anesthesia recovery, ensuring safe emergence and addressing post-operative needs.
- Respond to emergencies, including airway management and resuscitation efforts.
- Educate patients and families on the anesthesia process, risks, recovery, and pain management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless perioperative care.
- Contribute to teaching and mentoring students, residents, or new staff.
Qualifications
- Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred.
- RN licensure, CRNA certification, and certifications in BLS, PALS, and ACLS are required.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
