About the role

An individual who is trained (usually on-the-job) for the role of providing clerical support for a given unit/department.

Responsibilities

  • Answering phones
  • Providing copies of documents
  • Reviewing regulatory documents with patients and families
  • Reviewing charts for data entry
  • Ordering supplies and items for the unit/department
  • Aiding with timely pre-authorizations and insurance communication

Requirements

  • Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations
  • Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Medical Terminology knowledge preferred
  • One (1) year of healthcare experience preferred

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time effectively
