About the role

The Biology Student Laboratory Teaching Assistant (TA2) assists the instructor with preparation and operation of laboratory classes, whether in‑person or virtual, provides instruction during the laboratory, and may help with grading of laboratory assignments/quizzes and other clerical work related to the lab class.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructor with preparation and operation of laboratory classes (in‑person or virtual)
• Provide instruction during laboratory sessions
• Assist with grading of laboratory assignments, quizzes, and other clerical work
• Work the laboratory section for the full time the class lab runs on both days of the lab time slot
• Allow time for set‑up, tear‑down/clean‑up, meetings with the instructor, grading, and other operational activities related to running the lab

Requirements

• Must be a La Sierra University student currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 quarter
• Must be cleared and able to start work on or before September 21
• Must have taken BIOL305L within the last 3 years and passed with a grade of “B” or higher, or have been a previous TA2 for this course within the last 3 years

Pay

Wage range: $17.00 – $17.50 per hour.

Schedule

Must be able to work the laboratory section for the full time the class lab runs on both days of the lab time slot, plus allow time for set‑up, tear‑down/clean‑up, meetings with the instructor, grading, and other operational activities related to the running of the lab.
