About the role

The Biology Student Laboratory Teaching Assistant (TA2) assists the instructor with preparation & operation of laboratory classes whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid. The TA2 may provide instruction in the laboratory. The TA2 may be called upon to assist with grading of laboratory assignments/quizzes and other clerical work related to the laboratory class experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructor with preparation and operation of laboratory classes (in-person, virtual, or hybrid)
• Provide instruction in the laboratory as needed
• Assist with grading of laboratory assignments and quizzes
• Perform clerical work related to the laboratory class experience
• Work the full lab section time plus allow time for set-up, resets, take-down, meetings with the instructor, grading, and other operational activities

Requirements

• Must have taken and passed the course they would TA for with a grade “B” or higher
• Must be a La Sierra University student currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 quarter
• Must be cleared and able to start work on or before September 21
• Must have taken BIOL466/L within the last 4 years and passed with a grade of B or higher
• Number of openings depends on course enrollment numbers

Pay

Wage Range: $16.90 - $17.70/hr
