About the role

The Teaching Assistant 1 (TA1) acts as the course reader (grader), and academic data clerk for the instructor.

Responsibilities

• Grading of quizzes/exams/assignments
• Filing (physical or digital)
• Copying
• Data entry
• Other clerical/computer skills as needed
• Assisting in proctoring class exams
• Facilitating the lecture/classroom experience (in‑person, virtual, or hybrid)
• Assisting the instructor with lecture and exam preparation

Requirements

• Must have taken and passed the course with a grade “B” or higher
• Must be a La Sierra University student currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 quarter
• Must be cleared and able to start work on or before September 21
• Must have taken BIOL131 and passed with a grade of B or higher

Pay

Wage Range: $17.00 - $17.30/hr

Schedule

Required hours vary week to week.
