AVP, Patient Access (75- 100% travel)
About the role
The AVP Patient Access provides enterprise-wide strategic leadership for all front-end revenue cycle operations, which may include scheduling, registration, insurance verification, public benefits, and financial clearance. This highly strategic role oversees multiple cost centers and sets long-term objectives to optimize patient experience, enhance operational efficiency, and drive financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Provides vision, leadership and operational oversight for all Patient Access functions and Senior Access leaders across the organization.
- Fulfills the Ensemble Differences by establishing positive, collaborative relationships with operational leaders.
- Actively leads and/or participates in modernizing Patient Access, including goal setting, tracking and reporting of metrics, development and implementation of action plans to achieve goals, the review and implementation of new technologies, standardization of policies and processes, and development of communication tools.
- Ensures a comprehensive and effective communication strategy with the department that promotes employee engagement, enhances productivity and morale.
- Determines appropriate staffing levels, monitors compensation, and strengthens recruiting and retention processes.
- Organizes functions through establishing clear accountabilities, delegation of duties, and appropriate departmentalization without creating silos.
- Develops and maintains an effective, visible, and well-respected leadership team by selecting, evaluating, coaching, and managing the performance of qualified professionals.
- Negotiates and recruits with other department managers to ensure cross-training and support in their areas as necessary.
- Promotes team-building relationships in all areas of responsibility.
- Works in a collaborative manner with all managers/team leaders to ensure a successful and compliant revenue cycle process.
- Affirms compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of Patient Access or Revenue Cycle leadership experience in a hospital or large health system.
- Experience managing multiple health systems; hospital experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience implementing strategic initiatives including alignment of company goals and vision with operational execution.
- Demonstrated advanced usage of AI, success in translating AI into Business outcomes, and the ability to move teams from experimentation to scale.
- Strong business acumen and ability to operate across functions and organizational levels.
- Ability to effectively lead diverse teams and influence change management.
- Effective communication skills with ability to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas.
- Experience in healthcare provider finance operations or similar service environment.
Qualifications
- CRCR certification required within 9 months of employment (Ensemble supported).

Pay
This position pays between $112,000 - $160,000 based on experience, and is eligible for annual incentives.
Schedule
This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs dictate.
