Associate (Litigation 3rd-4th Year)

About the role

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP is seeking a 3rd or 4th year associate to join the New York Litigation-General practice group in the Litigation Global Business Unit.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of litigation, including fact investigation, pleadings, discovery, experts, motions, pretrial, trial, and settlement
• Develop and maintain strong business and client relationships
• Manage discovery processes, including preparing witnesses for deposition
• Draft complaints, answers, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements
• Manage filing and service of pleadings
• Work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and exercise strong professional judgment
• Demonstrate strong organizational and matter management skills
• Commit to developing and growing your practice, career, network, and expertise

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
• Member of the New York State Bar in good standing
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, oral advocacy, research, writing, and analytical skills
• Previous or current employment with an Am Law 100 firm is desired

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $260,000 – $310,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, skill set, and geographic location.
