Associate (Litigation 4th-5th Year)

About the role

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP is seeking to hire a 4th or 5th year associate to join the New York Litigation-General practice group in the Litigation Global Business Unit.

Responsibilities

• Litigating matters in New York State courts, including conducting discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting court appearances
• Working effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines, exercising strong professional judgment in a busy commercial practice
• Having strong organizational and matter management skills
• Committing to developing and growing their practice and career, networking, and building expertise in a fast-paced and exciting group that provides the highest level of client service

Requirements

• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, oral advocacy, research, writing, and analytical skills
• Bachelor's degree and a Juris Doctor degree (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
• Member of the New York State Bar in good standing

Qualifications

• Meaningful experience litigating matters in New York State courts
• A working knowledge of the New York Civil Practice Law and Rules (CPLR)

Benefits

• Salary range: $310k - $365k
• Final compensation determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, and skill set
