Assistant Nurse Manager of Rehabilitation- Neuro/Spinal Cord/TBI

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports daily operations of rehabilitation nursing units
  • Aids Nurse Manager with staffing coordination and workflow oversight
  • Provides frontline leadership and acts as a clinical resource
  • Maintains monitoring of patient flow and throughput
  • Addresses operational issues and escalates when necessary
  • Assists with implementation of unit-based initiatives and process improvement
  • Enhances patient experience and service recovery through proactive rounding and addressing concerns
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to improve patient experience
  • Maintains awareness of trends and communicates opportunities for improvement
  • Ensures compliance with quality and regulatory standards
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives
  • Supports regulatory readiness and compliance activities
  • Promotes a culture of safety and accountability
  • Supervises and develops PCTs and MTs
  • Interviews and hires new employees
  • Coordinates orientation schedules and supports orientation progression
  • Monitors competency completion and provides coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
  • Sustains staff engagement and retention initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience required
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut (adjust if needed)
  • BLS certification required
  • Ledger certification preferred (optional)
  • Rehabilitation nursing experience preferred
  • CRRN certification preferred
  • Prior leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience preferred

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet operational needs
  • Participation in committees and leadership meetings as assigned

WORK SCHEDULE

40 hours/week, Day shift (7:00am-3:30pm)
