ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports daily operations of rehabilitation nursing units
- Aids Nurse Manager with staffing coordination and workflow oversight
- Provides frontline leadership and acts as a clinical resource
- Maintains monitoring of patient flow and throughput
- Addresses operational issues and escalates when necessary
- Assists with implementation of unit-based initiatives and process improvement
- Enhances patient experience and service recovery through proactive rounding and addressing concerns
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to improve patient experience
- Maintains awareness of trends and communicates opportunities for improvement
- Ensures compliance with quality and regulatory standards
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives
- Supports regulatory readiness and compliance activities
- Promotes a culture of safety and accountability
- Supervises and develops PCTs and MTs
- Interviews and hires new employees
- Coordinates orientation schedules and supports orientation progression
- Monitors competency completion and provides coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
- Sustains staff engagement and retention initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience required
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut (adjust if needed)
- BLS certification required
- Ledger certification preferred (optional)
- Rehabilitation nursing experience preferred
- CRRN certification preferred
- Prior leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience preferred
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet operational needs
- Participation in committees and leadership meetings as assigned
WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours/week, Day shift (7:00am-3:30pm)
