Role Overview The Prototype Assembler II performs electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical assembly and rework to support engineering development and prototype evaluations. Responsibilities include building, modifying, troubleshooting, and documenting assemblies such as PCBs, cable harnesses, and evaluation kits, following detailed instructions and engineering guidance. Key Duties Assemble and rework electronic and mechanical components using soldering (SMT and through-hole), drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.Support prototype and engineering builds, assist with modifications, and perform routine rework.Inspect work quality, maintain documentation, and adhere to ESD, safety, and cleanliness standards.Communicate issues and assist in troubleshooting assembly-related problems under guidance.Organize work areas and tools, adapt to changing project priorities, and collaborate with engineers and team members to meet project needs. Qualifications & Skills Minimum two years of electronic assembly experience or equivalent technical training.Proficiency in soldering techniques, reading schematics and assembly drawings, and handling SMT components.Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to perform repetitive tasks.Effective communication skills, ability to work in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, and knowledge of ESD handling.High School Diploma or GED required. Work Environment & Physical Demands The role operates in a professional lab and office setting, involving use of standard equipment. Physical tasks include standing, walking, handling small components, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Flexibility to work overtime, nights, or weekends may be required.
