About the role
The Optical Assembly Technician 1 plays a vital role in supporting optical and optomechanical manufacturing operations in a clean-room environment.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and preparing metal, glass, and optical components
- Performing incoming and in-process measurements to ensure compliance with specifications
- Assembling optical components into housings with passive alignment
- Applying and curing adhesives
- Conducting basic mechanical assembly and inspection tasks
- Recording build and inspection data for traceability
- Communicating quality concerns and maintaining an organized workspace
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or inspection roles
- Familiarity with optical components, tools, and contamination-control principles
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to follow procedures
Skills
- Reading mechanical drawings
- Using inspection tools
- Understanding clean-room protocols
