The Springfield Public Schools are hiring Paraprofessionals for their Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program. Applications are open from April 13, 2026, to May 29, 2026, via the MYSPS portal under the Business and Human Resources heading.

About the role

Paraprofessionals will work under the direction of teachers, providing instructional assistance and clerical support. They will also assist with feeding during lunch and snack periods and perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance to small groups or individuals.
• Perform clerical tasks such as preparing, duplicating, organizing, and distributing materials.
• Assist with feeding during lunch and snack periods.
• Feed, diaper, and assist with personal hygiene as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Springfield Public Schools.
• No layoff notice received.
• Prior preference given to paraprofessionals working in the same program during the academic year.
• Prior preference given to those who have worked in the extended year program for continuity of instruction and social/emotional development.
• Availability required for the entire program work schedule.
• Must have a secured position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Benefits

The program runs from July 6, 2026, to July 30, 2026, with hours from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Schedule

The program runs from July 6, 2026, to July 30, 2026, with hours from 8:00 am to 1:45 pm.

Pay

Salary is per contract.
