Arthur T. Talmadge Elementary (External) - Paraprofessional: Elementary LINKS Paraprofessionals for Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program

The Springfield Public Schools is announcing a contingent position for a Paraprofessional: Elementary for their Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program. Applications are open from April 13, 2026, through May 29, 2026, and can be submitted via MYSPS.

About the role

Paraprofessionals will work under the direction of teachers, providing instructional assistance and clerical support. They will also assist with feeding and personal hygiene as needed. Reports to the Building Principal or designee.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance to small groups or individuals.
• Perform clerical tasks such as preparing, duplicating, organizing, and distributing materials.
• Aid in feeding during lunch and snack periods.
• Assist with personal hygiene needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional in Springfield Public Schools.
• No layoff notice received.
• Prior preference given to paraprofessionals working in the same program during the academic year.
• Prior preference given to those who have worked in the extended year program for continuity.
• Availability for the entire program work schedule.
• Must have a secured position for the 2026-2027 school year.
