About the role

Bags, a Metropolis company, is seeking a Curbside Concierge - Airline Check-in Agent to join our team at Salt Lake City International Airport. Our mission is to streamline baggage handling, check-in, and other key touchpoints to make every moment matter for travelers.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and secure luggage according to TSA standards
  • Issue boarding passes and tag bags for airline passengers on departing flights
  • Provide general information to passengers about locations/directions and flight information
  • Offer high-level customer service to airline passengers and clients
  • Follow safety, security, and dangerous goods procedures through annual training provided by Bags, Inc. and air carrier partners
  • Immediately and warmly greet guests as they approach the desk
  • Assist guests with check-in of luggage to appropriate airlines
  • Verify guest flight itinerary and number of bags being checked
  • Input guest information for those who have not previously enrolled in the process
  • Process check-in of guests' bags, including charging credit cards for bags as per airline requirements
  • Weigh guests' bags to verify appropriate weight and charge for overweight bags
  • Tag guests' luggage with destination tags
  • Provide boarding passes, luggage claim tickets, and receipts to guests before they leave the desk
  • Secure guests' luggage immediately upon processing
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional manner at all times
  • Organize and stock the Concierge desk
  • Uphold client guest service guidelines and values
  • Manage payments (credit card) received from guests
  • Answer telephones and guest questions
  • Manage simple addition

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in the early morning rotation
  • At least 6 months experience in a face-to-face guest service position preferred
  • Data Entry and/or computer experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly with guests and clients
  • Ability to work in outside weather conditions required
  • Knowledge of the airline or travel industry preferred
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must successfully pass the pre-employment criminal background screening
  • Must pass pre-employment Drug Testing process
  • Physical Requirements / Work Environment: Follow company appearance guidelines, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, push luggage cages up to 100 lbs, stand for up to 8 hours, walk, sit, reach, and perform frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, stretching, and crouching. Must be able to move quickly and frequently.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Ability to move in a relatively quick manner
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus

Salary Range

$14.00 per hour (+ tips)
