Airport Curbside Concierge Check-in Agent

About the role

Bags, a Metropolis company, is seeking a Curbside Check-in Agent, also known as a Skycap, to join our team. This position is located outside, on the curb, checking in passengers for their flights and requires airline compliance training to be completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Handle and secure luggage according to TSA standards
• Issue boarding passes and tag bags for airline passengers on departing flights
• Provide general information to passengers about locations/directions and flight information
• Offer high-level customer service to airline passengers and clients
• Manage payments (credit card) received from guests
• Answer telephones and guest questions

Qualifications

• Ability to work in the early morning rotation
• At least 6 months experience in a face-to-face guest service position preferred
• Data Entry and/or computer experience preferred
• Clear communication skills
• Positive and friendly demeanor
• Ability to work in outside weather conditions
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Pass pre-employment criminal background screening
• Pass pre-employment Drug Testing process

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Follow company appearance guidelines
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
• Must be able to push luggage cages both empty (approximately 100 lbs) and full
• Weather: Outdoors 100% of the time including all temperatures and types of weather (rain / humid / allergy related issues / etc)
• Noise: Continued vehicle noise including vehicle horns, multiple conversations and large group noise
• Standing: 100%
• Walking: 50%
• Specific vision abilities required: Close vision, Peripheral vision, Ability to adjust focus

Salary Range

The starting pay for this position is $11.00 per hour, plus tips. The salary range is $11.00 - $21.00 per hour (+ tips).
