About the role

Kingsley Montessori School is seeking enthusiastic and experienced educators to support our P3 – Grade 6 classrooms and teach after-school programs. This role is available in our Early Childhood (P3-K) classrooms. As an After School Program Teacher, you will share responsibility for the student experience and develop strong partnerships with colleagues and parents. We seek reflective, intentional educators who contribute to a progressive, integrated curriculum informed by Montessori pedagogy and principles, and help maintain a safe and enriching learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan age-appropriate curriculum and activities
  • Maintain classroom spaces
  • Implement strict safety protocols
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure continuity between classrooms and the After School Program
  • Assist with the development of after-school, vacation, and summer program curriculum
  • Support school classrooms and operations before after-school hours
  • Perform administrative duties when necessary
  • Attend staff meetings and occasional night/weekend events outside of regular hours

Schedule

Regular hours: Monday – Friday, 2:00 – 6:00 PM, or as agreed upon with the Director of Auxiliary Programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; candidates close to completing their degree will be considered
  • Prior experience working with children and/or in education, preferably with multi-age learning environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design and development
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cooperative school community
  • Commitment to meeting the needs of each child
  • Empathetic, flexible, and collaborative with a passion for working with students
  • Familiarity with and/or interest in learning more about Montessori pedagogy (AMS/AMI teaching credentials are a plus but not required)

Pay

Starting salaries typically range from $21,000 to $28,500, with the low end reflecting less experienced educators and the higher end recognizing those with over 20 years of teaching expertise.
