Responsibilities

  • Serves as a technical assistant to the Administrative Officer in the Civilian Personnel Office (CPO) and other staff personnel on all civilian administrative and technical procedures and personnel automated software.
  • Serves as personnel liaison to the Administrative Officer and Staff, relaying information from the personnel community on position management, classification, recruitment and staffing, etc.
  • Responsible for civilian personnel files and local records maintenance, including civilian correspondence, evaluation reports, promotions, awards, temporary duty orders, and duty rosters.
  • Assists in coordination with the Brigade S-3 (Force Modernization Office) for the TDA authorization/requirements to achieve optimum position management.
  • Primarily responsible for personnel database management, automation management, and the Civilian Sponsorship Program.
  • Provides liaison assistance between assigned civilians and Customer Service Representatives regarding pay issues.
  • Inspects subordinate organizations to ensure adherence to prescribed procedures, established policies, and legal or regulatory requirements, making corrections as needed.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Position is considered Non-Combat Essential (NCE) in support of the Army’s mobilization and wartime mission; may be assigned worldwide.
  • Must sign DD Form 2365 acknowledging suitability for assignment to austere and stressful combat environments.
  • Failure to perform duties in an emergency may result in separation for the efficiency of the Federal service.
  • Two-year trial period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency (NSA) facilities and networks.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel will be required (CONUS/OCONUS) 5% or less.
  • May be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations.

Qualifications

Only applicants who meet one of the following employment authority categories are eligible to apply:

  • Current Civilian Employees of the Command
  • Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C.

To qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized experience: One year of progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position, equivalent to the GG/GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes:

  • Coordinating and executing a variety of procedural civilian personnel actions, such as leave administration, pay allowances, and time and attendance programs.
  • Maintaining databases of current vacancy status and running recurring strength reports.
