26-27 AY Temporary Faculty Pool (Lecturer) - Dance

Temporary part-time lecturer positions in the Dance Department are filled on an as-needed basis to teach undergraduate courses that support the department’s educational goals.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and implement university and system-wide academic policies.
• Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams.
• Teach all assigned classes as scheduled throughout the entire semester in the mode listed (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid).

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Dance or a closely related field from an accredited institution (or foreign equivalent).
• Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence built on merit, talent, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity.

Qualifications

• Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, which may be exhibited through prior teaching experiences, teaching evaluations, or other evidence.
• Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Pay

Monthly salary for Temporary Faculty with a Master’s degree ranges from $5,507 to $6,677 when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries are typically at or near the minimum of the range. Actual monthly salary is adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per academic term.

Schedule

• Fall 2026: August 19, 2026 – December 22, 2026
• Spring 2027: January 15, 2027 – May 26, 2027

Appointments are temporary, part-time, and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The pool remains in place for two academic terms; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must reapply.
