26-27 AY Temporary Faculty Pool (Lecturer) - Kinesiology
California State University, Fresno’s Kinesiology Department invites applications for its temporary faculty pool. Candidates may be assigned to teach undergraduate courses in activity instruction (e.g., dance, basketball), specialized kinesiology lecture/lab courses, or supervise student teachers in the credential program. Assignments are made on an as-needed basis each semester.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, projects, and exams.
- Teach all scheduled classes for the entire semester in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid).
- Adhere to university and system-wide academic policies.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sport Psychology, Athletic Training, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
- For KAC Instructors: specialized experience in the activity being taught.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Physical Education credential (for student-teacher supervisors).
- National Strength and Conditioning Association certification (for strength and conditioning instructors).
- Prior successful undergraduate teaching experience and evidence of teaching excellence.
- Expertise in a closely-related Kinesiology discipline.
Pay
Monthly salary ranges from $5,507 to $6,677 for full-time teaching (15 WTUs) with a Master’s degree. Starting salaries are typically at or near the minimum. Actual pay is adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per term.
Schedule
- Fall 2026: August 19 – December 22, 2026.
- Spring 2027: January 15 – May 26, 2027.
Appointments are temporary, part-time, and made on short notice as enrollment and funding allow. The pool remains active for two academic terms; reapplication is required thereafter.
Application review begins May 1, 2026; deadlines are July 1, 2026 (Fall 2026) and October 31, 2026 (Spring 2027).
