About the role
The head coach will report to the athletic director and will work closely with high school principals.
Responsibilities
- Organize and supervise a total sports program.
- Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport.
- Continues to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
- Serves as an appropriate role model for student athletes.
- Advise, coordinate, and support a staff of high school assistant coaches and middle school coaches.
- Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training.
- Instruct and demonstrate behaviors leading to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment.
- Upgrade knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.
- Work with students interested in sports, provide necessary practice support and advice.
- Teach and enforce rules and regulations.
- Involves work on evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Athletic Coaching License from the New Mexico Public Education Department.
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Coaching online exam offered through the New Mexico Activities Association.

- Salary range: $10,000.00 - $10,000.00
Pay
- Minimum Salary: $10,000.00
- Maximum Salary: $10,000.00
