About the role
The Zone Lead (ZL) reports to the Assistant Store Manager and supports merchandising in designated zones while maintaining an active selling culture. The role ensures all visual aspects align with documented company standards to drive sales, provides expertise in visual standards, merchandising techniques, fixturing, and implements in-store marketing elements such as signs, vignettes, endcaps, tables, and flash finds that reinforce seasons, holidays, and promotions. The ZL influences team members to uphold visual merchandising standards while demonstrating ethical conduct, safety, and compliance. Responsibilities include enthusiastic participation in lifting, carrying, moving, and stocking within a warehouse-format store.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead visual merchandising transitions, reinventions, product assortment changes, and resets while maintaining visual integrity, a neat/clean environment, and inspiring guests through compelling visual merchandising.
- Support task management by planning and executing daily/weekly workloads and delegated tasks to meet visual merchandising, department, and store sales goals, guest engagement, and other objectives efficiently and on time.
- Participate in all freight processes, including sorting, stocking products in designated areas, down stocking, and endcap maintenance while keeping zones neat, clean, and organized.
- Support customer satisfaction, inventory control/shrink, safety, loss prevention expense control, and customer experience to ensure the store operates effectively and profitably.
- Participate in regular meetings/huddles with team members on relevant topics.
- Serve as a role model and coach in visual merchandising, providing continuous learning opportunities and communicating visual priorities through daily interactions.
- Review store financial and business data from the store scorecard, including sales and expenses, and act within assigned zones to improve metrics.
- Ensure maintenance of a neat, clean, and organized zone with up-to-date signing and sets.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Background check required.
- Clear and concise communication with excellent verbal, written, and comprehension skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and team lift 100 lbs., as well as move merchandise routinely in a warehouse-format store.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods, bend, climb, and reach as needed.
- Ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
- Strong attention to detail regarding standards, processes, marketing, etc.
