Youth Crisis Program Supervisor
About the role
The MRSS Crisis Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the crisis intervention/ prevention services for children. This role involves managing a 24/7 crisis program, developing and maintaining procedures, providing daily crisis case management, and overseeing the training and supervision of crisis counselors.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of individual growth and development, family and community systems.
- Mobilizes crisis workers to hospitals, schools, homes, and other community agencies for risk assessments and referrals.
- Makes decisions regarding hospitalization or placement in crisis beds.
- Facilitates ongoing crisis training and provides on-site assistance as needed.
- Collaborates with community mental health providers, law enforcement, and other agencies to provide appropriate services.
- Participates in on-call rotations for consultation with crisis clinicians.
- Maintains crisis services in compliance with relevant guidelines and manuals.
- Coordinates and maintains proper documentation of assessments, establishes outcome measures, and schedules crisis counselors.
- Facilitates training for new crisis counselors and ensures staff knowledge of licensing and standards.
- Coordinates cases and policies with the Department of Prevention and Behavioral Health Services.
- Ensures staff knowledge of and compliance with licensing, contractual, and other standards impacting daily operations.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree qualifying for licensure in Delaware as an LCSW, LPCMH, LMFT, or licensed psychologist.
- Minimum of 3 years post-licensure clinical experience, preferably in evidenced-based or evidence-informed child and family interventions.
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate supervisory experience, preferably in the same field.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- 3 or more continuing education credits in clinical supervision within the last year.
- Preferred multilingual skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises assigned staff.
Work Environment
Office based, partial telecommuting with approval. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, may be requested to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Travel required between sites for supervision, meetings, etc.
