About the Role

The Youth Program Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in New Lenox, IL, responsible for overseeing youth-focused recreation programs for participants with special needs. This role includes planning, organizing, and supervising daily program activities, ensuring they are safe, engaging, and aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support staff and volunteers.
• Provide guidance to participants and collaborate with families and caregivers to address individual needs.
• Manage schedules and maintain documentation.
• Monitor program quality and coordinate with other team members to improve services and resources.
• Design, adapt, and evaluate youth programs that promote social, recreational, and independence goals.

Qualifications

• Strong supervisory skills to lead staff and volunteers and support a positive, inclusive program environment.
• Program management abilities to oversee daily operations, coordinate schedules, and ensure program effectiveness.
• Excellent communication skills to interact clearly and respectfully with participants, families, caregivers, and colleagues.
• Case management skills to understand participant needs, maintain records, and coordinate appropriate support.
• Program development skills to design, adapt, and evaluate youth programs.
• Experience working with individuals with special needs and knowledge of adaptive recreation.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant educational background in recreation, special education, social work, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
