This position is eligible for a $1,000 hiring incentive.

Pay

The initial compensation for this position ranges from $79,295 - $97,523 per year. Additional differentials include:

• 8% License Differential for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, and select Peer Certifications
• 7.5% Bilingual Differential for qualified positions

About the role

Solano Mobile Crisis services for Solano County will provide emergency crisis intervention to residents — both youth and adults — who are acutely suicidal, homicidal, or gravely disabled. Services include:

• Phone crisis screening and triage
• In-person crisis evaluation and intervention
• Linkage to follow-up services, including crisis stabilization units (CSU) or local emergency departments (ED)

The Mobile Crisis Unit will deliver a coordinated system of crisis services in partnership with local law enforcement, the CSU, local EDs, and Solano County Behavioral Health (SCBH).

Tuesday - Friday, 8 pm - 6 am

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective coordination of services for individuals and families with internal and external providers by supporting relationship development and problem-solving barriers related to acute mental health crises.
• Respond to community-based mental health crises, including intervening with individuals presenting as a danger to self or others.
• Participate in joint responses with local law enforcement agencies to acute mental or behavioral health crises.
• Provide field-based supervision, oversight, and risk management of potentially adverse incidents as a supervisor.
• Develop and supervise Crisis Intervention Specialists and/or Family Specialists, including hiring, coaching, training, disciplining, and terminating.
• Ensure individuals' voices are heard and culturally responsive services are provided to internal and external customers.
• Espouse and coach a values-based model of care for Crisis Intervention Specialists and/or Family Specialists.
• Ensure Evidence-Based Practices are integrated into trainings, supervision, and coaching.
• Model and train staff in creating effective strength-based relationships with individuals.
• Manage and oversee 24-hour scheduling, including handling last-minute call-outs, vacations, and training requirements.
• Oversee and support the implementation of treatment plans, safety planning, and resourcing for individuals served.
• Participate in the Crisis Continuum by supporting the call schedule when Crisis Intervention Specialists are unavailable, including stepping in to provide direct service.
• Complete all required documentation and ensure direct reports do the same.
• May participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotation, including in-person responses.
• Support staff in following all risk management and incident reporting procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including licensing, quality, IT, HR, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Ensure clinical documentation and quality assurance meet agency and payor standards, including audit-ready charts and continuous quality improvement.
• Monitor and ensure defined outcome achievement and satisfaction levels for individuals, families, and referring agencies.
• Provide effective crisis and risk prevention and management.
• Manage operations, including utilization of administrative electronic systems.
• Assume a leadership role in the development of the Crisis team.
• Provide learning opportunities for staff, including classroom courses and field supervision.
• Work closely with clinical program leadership to ensure full implementation of the agency service philosophy.
• Meet applicable productivity and documentation requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or a related field, and one (1) or more years of experience in social or mental health services delivery, crisis management, or an equivalent field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered (two years of relevant experience equals one year of education).
• First Aid Certification, CPR Certification, and TCI Training required.
• If required by the program, must pass an initial physical abilities test (PATS) and be certified in crisis intervention techniques within the first 30 days and annually.
• Must remain physically fit to ensure client safety.
• Physical tasks may include standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, tasting, or smelling.
• Ability to move quickly or run if required by the program.
• If employed at a Crisis Stabilization Unit, must pass a Human Performance Evaluation Test, including lifting, pushing/pulling, repetitive coupling, static weight, and other required movements.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Driving may be required.
• May have unsupervised contact with children; requires a full background check and TB exam.
