About the role
The Salvation Army is seeking a Youth Coordinator to join our team in Boyertown Corps. The position is immediate and part-time with up to 29 hours per week. Responsibilities include facilitating youth programs, collaborating with school staff, and providing educational and recreational activities.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate The Salvation Army Youth Programs
- Supervise children in compliance with OCFS Regulations
- Develop and implement activities and events within the Corps and afterschool
- Assist with homework and academic support
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment
- Provide instruction to students individually and in groups
- Collaborate with school staff and program director
- Evaluate student performance and behavior
- Plan and conduct balanced instructional activities
- Maintain accurate student records
- Assess student progress and address individual needs
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers
- Ensure safety and security of students and property
- Provide feedback to supervisors
- Teach and facilitate music, arts, and enrichment activities
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred with 2 years of related experience, or HS diploma/equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts
- Strong organizational skills, patience, creativity, and love for families
- Proficiency in computer applications including email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet research
- Completion of PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check, and Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training
- Understanding and support for The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement
