About the role

The Arab-American Family Support Center (AAFSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving immigrants and refugees. AAFSC's Young Adult & Youth Program (YAYP) provides a space for young people to heal, grow, and thrive through group programming and individual support.

Responsibilities

  • MENar Planning & Facilitation: Co-facilitate MENar, a group program for male-identifying participants focusing on leadership development, life skills, mental well-being, civic engagement, sports, and more. Develop semester and session plans, design and facilitate lessons, plan activities, and provide individual follow-up and support.
  • Academic, College, Career & Individual Support: Maintain a caseload of youth participants, provide individualized coaching, mentoring, and support, assist with academic goals, college exploration, career planning, and connect participants to additional services.
  • Recruitment & Community Engagement: Support participant recruitment through outreach, build relationships with youth, families, educators, and community stakeholders, and represent AAFSC at events.
  • Program Operations & Team Collaboration: Maintain accurate participant records, assist with data collection and reporting, participate in team meetings, and contribute to a welcoming program culture.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Human Services, Counseling, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • At least two years of experience working with youth or young adults in an educational, youth development, coaching, afterschool, or community-based setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate engaging, enriching, and youth-centered programming.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and group facilitation skills.
  • Familiarity with, lived experience in, or commitment to immigrant communities preferred.
  • Experience working with male identifying young and young adults preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage administrative responsibilities.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Arabic.

Qualifications

  • Passport to the United States required.
  • U.S. Work Authorization required.

Benefits

AAFSC offers a competitive salary of $28.27 per hour and a flexible schedule of 15 hours per week on 3 days per week between Monday–Friday.

$28.27/hr.
