Youth Program Coordinator

About the role

The Salvation Army in Henderson Nevada is seeking a Youth Worker to lead and assist with various youth programs and activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with Sunday School classes, Sunday Morning Worship services, fellowship times, visitation, bible studies, outreach, young adults ministries, After School during the week, and Summer Day Camp.
• Coordinate and drive for Youth programs and events.
• Prepare and cook meals and snacks for programs and events.
• Coordinate attendance with parents and manage all aspects of programs with Schools.

Requirements

• Two years experience working with children in a Corps/Church setting and/or a two years college degree in Youth Ministries or Christian Education.
• A valid food handler’s permit.
• A valid driver's license and ability to meet all requirements to drive a Salvation Army Vehicle.

Qualifications

• Must be a Christian with a strong personal commitment to Christ, a person of high integrity, and feel comfortable discussing Christianity with children and adults.
• A demonstrated ability to relate to and work with young persons from diverse backgrounds and communicate effectively with parents, volunteers, and other professionals such as school Principals, schoolteachers, etc.
• Able to operate office equipment such as FAX machines, copy machines, printers, laminating machines, etc.
• Must possess a valid food handler’s permit.
• Must receive training and certification for The Salvation Army Protect the Mission and Child Safety policies and ensure compliance in all programs and facilities.

Skills

• Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.
• Well organized and able to maintain files and materials.
• Positive representation of The Salvation Army in personal conduct and appearance.
