About the Role

The Workforce Compliance Coordinator supervises and coordinates all personnel investigations, district leave options, work accommodations/restrictions, and training related to workforce compliance topics. This role serves as the District's key point of contact and primary subject matter expert on all District investigation and leave matters.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, prepare, and facilitate District personnel investigation matters.
  • Determine the placement of employees on leave pending District investigations based on possible violations of federal/state law or District policy.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and the Superintendent regarding recommendations/outcomes of District investigations for all staff.
  • Prepare legal documents, such as Settlements/Separation Agreements, Formal Notices of Deficiencies, and Charges.
  • Coordinate and manage due process meetings.
  • Manage all subpoena requests for personnel records.
  • Coordinate and manage requests for legal documents from outside legal counsel related to personnel items.
  • Receive, manage, and respond to all EEOC, MCHR, and lawsuits filed by personnel.
  • Act as the liaison between Jennings School District and insurance carriers related to all EEOC, MCHR, and lawsuits filed by personnel.
  • Coordinate and manage requests for work accommodation/restrictions for all staff.
  • Coordinate and manage the District's FMLA program.
  • Prepare and conduct training related to Human Resources procedures/topics.
  • Respond to letters, emails, and telephone inquiries regarding Board policies, Joint Resolutions, District practices, and employee labor and relations-related items.
  • Participate in meet and confer sessions as assigned.
  • Implement District and governmental policies, procedures, and mandates related to employment.
  • Develop District policies and procedures relating to employee labor and relations.
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Promote a positive image of Jennings School District.
  • Maintain the dignity of others and the confidentiality of information.
  • Keep current with literature, new research findings, best practices, and resources related to the position.
  • Adhere to the Board of Education policies and comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and procedural expectations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related area (required).
  • Five years of experience in Human Resources, Education Law, and experience in Labor Relations (preferred, not required).

Preferred Certifications

  • Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
  • Professional Human Capital Leader in Education (pHCLE).
  • Juris Doctor (JD).
  • Esquire (preferred, not required).

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and before groups, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and Human Resource acumen.
  • Problem-solving and common-sense reasoning to carry out instructions furnished in written and/or oral form.
  • Proficiency in using various platforms: HRIS, Infinite Campus, SISFIN.
  • Proficiency in project management tools.
  • Ability to use data analytics and reporting.
  • Skills in the use of Document Management Systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, move, walk at a brisk pace, sit, and use hands and arms to handle, feel, and reach.
  • Occasionally required to stoop or kneel and lift/move up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be physically able to implement all Board of Education Policies and District procedures.

Environmental Requirements

This position is based out of the District's administrative office with occasional travel to various locations throughout the District. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Pay

Annual salary based on position title.

Schedule

11 months, full-time with full benefits.
