About the Role
Build a skilled trade career with Louis Allis in Warrior, Alabama. This is a hands-on trainee opportunity in a climate-controlled facility where you will learn valuable technical skills in industrial electric motor manufacturing. Previous motor-winding experience is not required.
Schedule
Day shift: 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Prepare AC and DC motor parts for rewinding through cleaning and stripping operations.
- Learn to wind coils, insulate components, insert coils, and make standard motor connections.
- Use specialized repair, lifting, testing, and hand tools with training and guidance.
- Perform electrical testing on AC and DC motors using equipment such as Meggers, hi-pot testers, OHM meters, and test panels.
- Support vibration analysis, maintenance, housekeeping, and other production activities as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
- As skills develop, assist with Level C field service work at customer sites.
Requirements
- Willingness to learn and build new mechanical and technical skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or comfort working with tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow training, safety procedures, and work instructions.
- Reliability, attention to detail, and a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to stand for periods of up to 3–4 hours and lift 30+ lbs.
- High school diploma preferred.
