Entry-level technician learning the motor winding trade, including stripping wire windings, calculating, creating, and installing new coils, and making connections.
Responsibilities
- Remove old windings from motor cores, and clean and prepare motors.
- Calculate, shape, and wind new coils.
- Dip wound motors in varnish and bake in industrial ovens.
- Regular in-person attendance is required.
- Maintain a clean and orderly facility.
- Perform other functions as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Dependable with a desire to learn.
- Detail-oriented and takes pride in work.
Physical Demands
- Remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Move about within the shop to gather materials.
- Place and position small and large parts/materials during diagnostic and repair processes.
- Bend, climb, stoop, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds without difficulty.
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed indoors in a climate-controlled shop.
Schedule
Monday - Friday (7:00 am - 3:30 pm) with occasional voluntary overtime.
Pay
Weekly pay frequency. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.
