Motor Winder Apprentice

Entry-level technician learning the motor winding trade, including stripping wire windings, calculating, creating, and installing new coils, and making connections.

Responsibilities

• Remove old windings from motor cores, and clean and prepare motors.
• Calculate, shape, and wind new coils.
• Dip wound motors in varnish and bake in industrial ovens.
• Regular in-person attendance is required.
• Maintain a clean and orderly facility.
• Perform other functions as needed.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable with a desire to learn.
• Detail-oriented and takes pride in work.

Physical Demands

• Remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
• Move about within the shop to gather materials.
• Place and position small and large parts/materials during diagnostic and repair processes.
• Bend, climb, stoop, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds without difficulty.

Work Environment

Work is primarily performed indoors in a climate-controlled shop.

Schedule

Monday - Friday (7:00 am - 3:30 pm) with occasional voluntary overtime.

Pay

Weekly pay frequency. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.
