Wind Technician

About the Role

Invenergy is North America’s largest privately held developer, owner, and operator of power infrastructure. The Forward Wind Energy Center is a 137.85 MW wind power generation facility located in Brownsville, WI, utilizing GE 1.5sle turbine technology. As a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining this facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbines and associated equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components.
• Maintain company tooling, facilities, and equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
• Work a 40‑hour week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime, with schedule variations during peak maintenance periods.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one (1) year of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 lb); weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lb) excluding equipment/gear.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• This is a safety‑sensitive position; candidates will be subject to drug testing and must receive a negative result before employment.

Pay

Base Pay: $29.49 – $49.97 USD hourly.
Bonus: 0 % – 10 % of base pay, based on individual and company performance. The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position and is determined by factors such as scope of responsibilities, experience, education, and skills.
