Responsibilities
- Provide professional services for water engineering projects including planning, study, design, and construction administration.
- Manage performance of assigned project team members such as Project Engineers, Junior Engineers, and Technicians.
- Maintain existing client relationships and pursue new opportunities.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage project opportunities.
- Ensure quality control and quality assurance on all project work.
- Maintain project budgets and schedules.
- Coordinate and facilitate internal and external meetings.
- Mentor team members.
Requirements
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 4+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering, with a strong interest in the water market sector.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel and work remotely.
- Knowledge of design standards and permitting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in municipal water engineering.
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of project financials and funding programs.
Qualifications
Physical Qualifications
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain.
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify errors or defects.
- May require wearing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including hard hat and protective footwear.
- May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload.
- May require occasional overnight stays out of town.
