VP of Community Living

Job Purpose

UCP Heartland is seeking a dynamic and proven management professional to lead their Residential Services Program. This senior leadership role represents the organization both internally and externally and provides operational oversight for services supporting more than 35 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD), including individuals with complex clinical and medical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all individuals receive exceptional care and support to thrive at home, work, school, and in the community
• Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to Program Directors
• Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Contribute as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team
• Develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals
• Strengthen infrastructure, systems, processes, and personnel
• Ensure compliance with CARF and other regulatory bodies
• Maintain adherence to HIPAA standards
• Oversee program evaluation, reporting, and improvement planning
• Aid in program budgeting and ensure operations remain within resource limits
• Oversee financial performance and sustainability of programs
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with Board members, leadership team, and community partners
• Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team in partnership with HR
• Mentor and coach emerging leaders
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work culture

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, social work, education, business administration, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of administrative experience at the director level or higher, preferably in a community-based human services organization
• Experience with: Financial oversight and budgeting, Program implementation and evaluation, Serving individuals with disabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of senior management experience in organizations with budgets of $5M+
• Demonstrated expertise in: Leadership and personnel management, Conflict resolution and project management, Business planning and staff development
• Experience managing multiple sites across geographically dispersed locations
