About the role

Olympic Medical Center is located on the beautiful North Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. The area offers a wide range of recreational activities including hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, and cycling. It is bordered by the Olympic National Park, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the Pacific Coast, with Seattle and Victoria, BC nearby.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care to patients in their place of residence as directed by the Case Manager RN.
  • Coordinates care with the Case Manager RN to ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicates patient progress, recommended actions, and physician orders to the Case Manager RN.
  • Assists in developing and implementing care plans for patients.
  • Maintains a keen awareness of personal safety and follows emergency procedures as needed.
  • Supports on-call needs for patients as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Nursing (RN) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of one year recent experience in home health, acute care, or long-term care preferred.
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license.
  • Proof of insurance on the automobile used for work.
  • Driving record compliant with OMC standards.
  • Computer internet connectivity and reliable automobile transportation required.

Qualifications

  • Full working knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and problem-solving skills.
  • Independent decision-making ability in complex and diverse work situations.
  • Strenuous exertion may be required in emergency situations (e.g., patient resuscitation).
  • Contact with patients in various circumstances.
  • Subject to irregular hours.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of home health care protocols and procedures.

Pay and Schedule

  • Pay range: $40.85 - $61.93 per hour.
  • Shift differentials/premiums: Yes (including weekend and holiday shifts).
  • Lead premium: $3.25/hour.
  • Preceptor pay: $1.00/hour.
  • Certification premium: $2.00/hour.
  • Weekend coordinator pay: 5% on regular pay.
  • On-call shift differential: 15% (on base plus steps, in lieu of benefits).

Schedule

  • Flexible shift options including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • On-call support as assigned for patients.
  • Voluntary participation in on-call rotation for per diem Visit RN’s.
