Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator

This position is on-site 5 days a week in Key West, FL.

Responsibilities

• Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
• Work side-by-side with the engineer to maintain and deploy VDI thin clients.
• Work directly with SCCM/MECM to ensure patching/security compliance and with the Service Desk department to troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
• Keep master image and pools updated and secured.
• Implement patches, updates, and configuration changes in coordination with cybersecurity and IT teams.
• Interface with the customer, gathering requirements and delivering solutions.
• Troubleshoot VDI-related issues, including user access, performance, connectivity, and software compatibility.
• Monitor system performance and usage to identify bottlenecks or failure points and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. A degree can be substituted for additional experience:
  • High School Diploma and 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Associate’s degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • A master’s degree is equivalent to an additional 2 years of experience and a PhD is equivalent to an additional 4 years of experience.
• 5+ years of direct experience supporting VDI environments.
• 10+ years of overall IT experience in system administration or related technical roles.
• Experience with VMware Horizon, Citrix, or other major VDI solutions.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking fundamentals.
• Must have an active Secret clearance.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• FSLogix and/or HorizonView Client experience.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V), or related certification.
• Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component.

Physical Requirements

• The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email, phone, or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
