Responsibilities
- Leads the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of complex computer systems, network servers, and virtualization technologies, including those in critical or high-security environments.
- Possess advanced knowledge of operating systems, server hardware, virtualization platforms, network infrastructure, and security best practices.
- Install, configure, and upgrade complex systems and software, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware and software errors, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve critical issues.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures, and Disaster Recovery Plans.
- Lead the implementation of automation processes to streamline IT operations and improve efficiency.
- Mentor and provide guidance to mid-level Systems Administrators, fostering their professional development and technical expertise.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of IT infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and industry best practices.
Requirements
- BA/BS in field necessary to assume Senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator duties.
- High School and 4 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree.
- A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
- A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
- Eight years of professional experience in the Information Technology sector.
- Five years of Senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator relevant experience.
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification within 6 months of commencing work on the Task Order.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Experience with monitoring and performance tuning of systems.
- Relevant certifications in systems administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), CompTIA Server+).
- Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
