Senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator

Responsibilities

• Leads the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of complex computer systems, network servers, and virtualization technologies, including those in critical or high-security environments.
• Possess advanced knowledge of operating systems, server hardware, virtualization platforms, network infrastructure, and security best practices.
• Install, configure, and upgrade complex systems and software, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and software errors, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve critical issues.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures, and Disaster Recovery Plans.
• Lead the implementation of automation processes to streamline IT operations and improve efficiency.
• Mentor and provide guidance to mid-level Systems Administrators, fostering their professional development and technical expertise.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of IT infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and industry best practices.

Requirements

• BA/BS in field necessary to assume Senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator duties.
• High School and 4 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree.
• A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
• A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
• Eight years of professional experience in the Information Technology sector.
• Five years of Senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator relevant experience.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification within 6 months of commencing work on the Task Order.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience with monitoring and performance tuning of systems.
• Relevant certifications in systems administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), CompTIA Server+).
• Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
