Azure Virtual Desktop System Administrator

Location: Suffolk, VA | Position Type: Full Time | Clearance Level: Secret

About the role

AERMOR LLC is hiring an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) System Administrator to administer Navy Flank Speed Azure desktop environment server-based systems, security devices, distributed applications, network storage, and perform systems monitoring. This role also involves consulting on network, application, and customer service issues to support computer systems’ security and availability.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage virtual machines in Azure to support a large user base.
• Monitor session statistics to develop and refine usage metrics, informing provisioning of additional resources or shutting down unused resources; assist in developing service optimization models.
• Provide technical support to the Enterprise Flank Speed Tier 2 service desk for troubleshooting issues as required.
• Manage Windows images, including group policy and end-user software.

Requirements

• 5+ years of IT experience with significant experience using Microsoft Azure.
• Relevant experience as a Windows system administrator.
• COMPTIA Security+ certification or higher (required).
• One or more of the following certifications preferred: AZ-140, AZ-900, or AZ-104.
• Working knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Framework.
• Understanding of cloud computing and networking.
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell.

Pay

Salary Range: $95,000–$110,000/yr. Compensation is based on contract wage rates, geographic location, professional experience, technical expertise, education, certifications, and alignment with role requirements.
