Veterinary Technician - Surgery

About the role

CARE Veterinary Center is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join the Surgery team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Frederick, MD.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end surgical and perioperative care for critical patients.
• Prepare patients for surgery, monitor anesthesia, and assist in advanced procedures.
• Support services including instrument management, sterile technique, and coordinating post-operative recovery.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care).
• CVT/RVT/LVT (active and current) strongly preferred.
• Superior/advanced technical skills.
• Strong anesthesia skills (Blood pressure, ECG, Sp02, and ETC02 monitoring).
• Possesses a positive work attitude.
• Self-motivated.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.

Pay

The actual compensation will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. An expected starting range is $20 – $26 / hour (non-credentialed) or $26 -- $34 / hour (credentialed).
