Veterinary Technician - Surgery

Pieper Veterinary is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician passionate about anesthesia and surgical care to join their General Practice at Pieper Veterinary Berlin Street in Middletown, CT.

Requirements

• Experience with common induction agents/anesthetic agents/analgesia agents.
• Ability to calculate CRIs and perform other medical math.
• Experience with ventilators.
• Experience with specialty anesthesia (emergent procedures specifically).
• Knowledge on how and when to use a non-rebreather circuit.
• Knowledge when to react with BP readings and what to do in each situation.
• Skilled in time management with an understanding of the importance of table times.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and restraint.
• Experience with CPR and EzyVet (additional plus).

Skills

• Comfortable with anesthesia, various drug calculations and protocols, and excels at anesthetic monitoring.

Pay

$22.50-$28.00/hour dependent upon experience.

Schedule

A full-time schedule: 4 days a week - 10-hour shifts - 8am-6pm. Rotating Saturdays are required - 8am-2pm.
