About the role
Garden State Veterinary Services in Woodbridge, NJ is seeking an experienced veterinary technician to join their Surgery Department. The ideal candidate will work alongside the Surgeon and have anesthesia experience.
Responsibilities
- Aid in general anesthesia and sedated procedures
- Set up CRIs and calculate medical math
- Place IV catheters and institute fluid therapy
- Position for radiographs and understand radiation safety
- Provide quality, compassionate care for hospitalized patients
- Prepare and administer transfusions: Blood and Plasma
- Maintain accurate treatment sheets and anesthesia records
- Understand capnography, pulse oximetry, ECG and blood pressure monitoring
- Obtain and prepare various blood samples for diagnostic testing
- Provide client education on at-home care
Requirements
- CVT/LVT/RVT preferred, or 2+ years of experience as a Technician
- Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring
- Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
- Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges
- Commitment to mentoring and training veterinary assistants
- Ability to work well in a highly collaborative environment
- Positive outlook and friendly, team-oriented attitude
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- The ability to deliver exceptional client service

Pay
$23/hr - $34/hr depending on skills, experience, and credentials
Schedule
Wednesday - Saturday, 7:30am - 6pm or Wednesday - Saturday, 8:30am - 6:30pm
