Veterinary Technician (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery)

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine animal husbandry procedures.
• Consult with veterinarians on clinical case management and treatment of animals.
• Complete the collection, maintenance and compliance of written documentation and records.
• Manage and record animal clinical cases independently.
• Absorb and communicate clinical care plans with investigators.
• Assist with receiving and shipping laboratory animals.
• May perform behavioral studies, animal breeding colony management, and diagnostic lab techniques including in-house parasitology and basic microscopy.
• Assist with animal experimental techniques such as restraint, IM, IV, IP and SQ injections, blood and tissue collection, necropsy, anesthesia and analgesia, and surgery techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
• One year of related experience.
