About the Role

This role is responsible for assisting and administering medications as outlined by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, to include verifying the accuracy of the medications administered, documenting, reporting errors, and reordering medications as required. You will provide clients with protective oversight and be responsive in meeting the needs and requests of residents.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior that aligns with the values of Hilltop’s Assisted Living Communities (ALCs), including Service 1 (how we treat each other) and Service 2 (how we treat our residents) by setting boundaries, being predictable, consistent, kind, and transparent.
• Provide protective oversight of residents, including assisting residents, maintaining a safe physical environment, redirecting and assisting disoriented or confused residents, applying and following house rules, honoring resident rights, reporting and assisting residents experiencing difficulties, and monitoring visitors.
• Provide social supervision, including helping with transport and ambulation to events, assisting with communication and attendance to social events, managing mail, and assisting with general socialization.
• Ensure sanitation and safety of residents by monitoring living and common areas, removing and reporting safety hazards, maintaining safety supplies, and redirecting residents from unsafe areas or situations.
• Assist with transportation, including helping riders on and off the transport bus or van.
• Perform laundry duties, including resident’s personal laundry and cleaning of laundry areas.
• Assist residents with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, escorting to the dining room, and preparing them for bed.
• Promote positive customer relations by learning and using resident names, acknowledging residents and visitors, answering phones, maintaining confidentiality, and demonstrating a positive attitude.
• Answer radio, pager, and the resident request system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus six months of related work experience preferred, but not required.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Colorado Identification Card (required).
• Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP) Certification (preferred).
• CPR Certificate/First Aid Certificate (preferred).
• De-Escalation Training (preferred).

Benefits

• Competitive pay: Care Specialist starting wage range of $17.35-$18.21 per hour; QMAP starting wage range of $18.85-$19.79 per hour.
