About the Role

This position is responsible for providing personal care assistance to residents at The Fountains and The Commons. The employee is expected to provide clients with protective oversight and be responsive in meeting the needs and requests of residents.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior that aligns with the values of Hilltop's Assisted Living Communities (ALCs), including Service 1 (how we treat each other) and Service 2 (how we treat our residents). This includes setting boundaries, being predictable, consistent, kind, and transparent.
  • Provide protective oversight of residents, including:
    • Assisting residents and maintaining a safe physical environment.
    • Redirecting and assisting disoriented or confused residents.
    • Applying and following house rules and honoring resident rights.
    • Reporting and assisting residents experiencing difficulties.
    • Identifying and monitoring visitors to the facility.
  • Provide social supervision, including:
    • Helping with transport and ambulation to events.
    • Assisting with communication of and attendance to social events.
    • Sending, delivering, and reading mail upon request.
    • Assisting with general socialization.
  • Ensure the sanitation and safety of residents, including:
    • Monitoring the safety of living and common areas.
    • Removing and reporting any safety hazards.
    • Maintaining safety supplies.
    • Redirecting residents away from unsafe areas or situations.
  • Assist with transportation, including helping riders on and off the transport bus or van.
  • Perform laundry duties, including resident's personal laundry (linens, towels, aprons, washcloths as needed) and cleaning of laundry areas.
  • Assist residents with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, escorting to the dining room, preparing them for bed, etc.).
  • Promote and participate in positive customer relations by:
    • Learning and using resident names.
    • Acknowledging residents and visitors.
    • Answering the phone as needed.
    • Maintaining knowledge of the facility, where to direct people, and how to access resources.
    • Maintaining confidentiality.
    • Demonstrating a positive attitude.
  • Answer radio, pager, and the resident request system.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus six months of work experience preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Colorado Identification Card (required).
  • CPR Certificate/First Aid Certificate (preferred).
  • De-Escalation Training (preferred).
  • Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP) Certification (preferred).

Pay

  • Care Specialist: starting wage range of $17.35-$18.21 per hour.
  • QMAP: starting wage range of $18.85-$19.79 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time variable schedule with day, evening, and overnight availability.
