Responsibilities
- Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior that aligns with Hilltop’s values.
- Administer medications as outlined by physician orders, verifying medications to the Medications Administration Record.
- Promote and participate in positive customer relations by learning and using resident names; acknowledging residents and visitors; answering the phone as needed; maintaining confidentiality; and demonstrating a positive attitude.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Follow all Corporate, Program, and State Medication Administration policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Monitor the narcotic medications by counting all assigned narcotics prior to receiving control over the medication cart; conduct a narcotic count prior to giving control of the medication cart to any other individual.
- Complete assigned documentation within prescribed timelines promptly, accurately, and legibly.
- Report all medication errors immediately and complete the required documentation for medication errors.
- Clean assigned medication carts prior to the end of the shift by emptying trash, wiping down the cart, organizing medications, and replenishing supplies.
- Answer radio, pager, and the resident request system.
- Assume Care Specialist duties, as needed.
Requirements
- Care Specialist: High School Diploma or GED plus six months of related work experience preferred, but not required. Minimum 18 years of age required. Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP) Certification required.
- QMAP Care Specialist: High School Diploma or GED plus six months of related work experience preferred, but not required. Minimum 18 years of age required. Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP) Certification required.

- Colorado Identification Card (required).

Pay
The starting wage range for the Care Specialist role is $17.00 to $17.85 per hour. The starting wage range for the QMAP Care Specialist role is $17.50-$18.38 per hour.
Schedule
- Friday-Monday 2 pm-10:30 pm Variable QMAP (Days, Evenings, Overnights)
- Friday-Monday 2 pm-10:30 pm Sunday-Thursday 2p-10:30p Tuesday-Saturday 2:00 pm-10:30 pm Variable Care (Days, Evenings, Overnights)
