Join Sam’s Club and work in the Tire and Battery Center (TBC) to ensure a safe, organized, and high-performing sales floor while delivering expert service to members.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain facility and sales floor safety by adhering to all safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety sweeps, following proper forklift and hazardous material handling requirements, complying with company steel standards, and promptly correcting or reporting unsafe situations.
  • Ensure the Tire and Battery Center (TBC) sales floor is organized, stocked, zoned, and merchandised according to company policies, including proper handling of claims, returns, shrink, and damages.
  • Present and maintain merchandise by stocking, setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays, removing damaged goods, signing and pricing merchandise, and securing fragile and high-shrink items.
  • Monitor tire and battery orders daily, assist members with installation appointments, communicate lead time changes or cancellations, and provide alternative suggestions for installation or tire fitments.
  • Assist members with tire maintenance and repair services, providing expert recommendations by identifying needs, explaining warranties, and ensuring members receive the best service and value.
  • Drive sales and service excellence by communicating the value of TBC offerings and collaborating with associates to promote member awareness.
  • Triage and prioritize service workflow in TBC service bays, using Sam’s Garage to identify waiting members, understanding time requirements for services, and prioritizing appointments for efficiency.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety and compliance protocols, tire and battery industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems), product specifications, and selling techniques.
  • Leverage technology to enhance operations and engagement using digital tools and handheld devices for sales planning, service improvements, real-time business decisions, and product training.
  • Serve as a brand advocate by modeling high-quality service, developing and influencing team members, and assisting in training.
  • Complete vehicle service requests and tests, operate TBC equipment safely, and handle merchandise and supplies according to company procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, handling challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Operate cash registers, process member purchases, and assist with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges using appropriate procedures for different membership and payment types.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, using the Open Door Policy and applying these in business practices.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by collaborating with managers and team members, identifying deadlines, and adapting to feedback and change.
  • Embrace diversity in people, cultures, and ideas, fostering an inclusive workplace where associates feel supported and valued.
  • Build strong relationships, communicate with impact, and mentor others to strengthen the team.

  • Follow TBC safety and security guidelines, provide accurate information to members, and report complaints, hazards, or issues with products and services.
  • Use TBC equipment and supplies correctly, complete required documentation, and follow Point-of-Sale procedures to prevent shrink and assist members with transactions.

Requirements

  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • 18 years of age or older.

  • Experience in the auto service industry or retail.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, such as based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
